SUE FINE
Therapist
Therapy where you can be you.
My approach
As a psychotherapist, I have an eclectic, evidenced-based approach, honoring client’s unique stories, needs, values and goals. Informed by the approaches of Narrative Therapy [insert hyperlink], Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy [insert hyperlink] and Dialectical Behavior Therapy [insert hyperlink], I build genuine, caring relationships and connections with clients so that they can thrive. I may not have all the answers, but I can help process and provide insights to help you clarify and take action on your path forward.
About me
My work is centered on co-creating a world of authenticity, equity, and well-being. There is power in being heard and understood as you discover new possibilities and trust in your strengths.
I have taught elementary and middle schools, led and taught in a teacher education program, been the executive director of an education non-profit where we designed innovative public schools, was the Chief Academic Officer to design and scale a personalized learning program, and created training support for a non-profit focused on helping youth build healthy relationships. All of these experiences included supporting spaces for people to create lives that are as healthy, connected and successful as possible. Along the way, I continued to study and learn. My most recent Masters degree is in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Bonaventure University. Additionally, I received my Ph.D. in Education and a Masters in Educational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. I also have certificate training in Queer Narrative Therapy and Climate Psychology.
A longtime New York City resident, I live with my partner, Alice, and our adorable rescue dog, Bear. I’m also always trying to become a better guitar and mandolin player and aspiring to find as many ways as possible to make all my condiments from scratch.
